Share Christ's Love in a Personal Way by Making Disciples of Christ of All
People
The Great Commission of Christ to the Church in Matthew 28:18-20 provides us
with our model for ministry. The general goal of summit is to fulfill this
commission by being a church planting church. This happens through our
Method, our Model, and our Mandate:
Our Method
 |
Front Porch - The
front porch borders the yard (our mission field) and it is often the first place
where visitors come into contact with Summit. The front porch is where we
worship God, and where we begin to build those disciple making relationships. |
 |
Living Room - The living room is more intimate than the front porch.
This is where we really get to know one another and strengthen our relationship
with God by studying his word in small groups. |
 |
Kitchen
- The kitchen is still more intimate than the living room. Not many make
it here, but it is where we need the most people. The kitchen is a place
of service. This is where ministry within the church happens. Those
who make it into the kitchen are charged with preparing the church to fulfill
its commission. Kitchen workers are disciple makers, making more disiple
makers. |
 |
Workshop - Like the kitchen, the workshop
is more intimate. It is also a place for disciple making, but the focus of
the workshop is outside the walls of the church. The workshop is where
missions occurs. We follow the command of Acts 1:8 in conducting missions;
so, we do missions in Jerusalem (Acworth/Kennesaw), Judea (Greater Atlanta and
the Southeast), Samaria (the rest of the U.S.) and the uttermost parts of the
world (Mexico, Sudan, Ukraine, and Hungary). |
Our Model
-
Each member of Summit is to become an active and creatively engaged disciple maker.
-
Summit is to become a
Global Mission Strategy Center,
providing growth and discipleship opportunities around the world.
-
Summit is to become a Church birthing other churches with a similar DNA.
Our Mandate
-
To be focused solely on Christ, making Him
central in all we do individually.
-
To be on Mission with Christ.
